Melbourne RenFair 2027
Dates: Friday 14, Saturday 15 & Sunday 16 May 2027
Location: Yarra Valley Racecourse, Yarra Glen, Victoria
Trader Applications Open: 26 August 2026
Melbourne RenFair is a three-day event, and accepted traders are expected to be stocked, staffed and trading across all three days.
Our markets are a major part of the RenFair experience. We're looking for interesting merchants, talented makers, unusual wares and businesses that will help us create a marketplace worth exploring.
For 2027, applications have been divided into three categories to make the process simpler and ensure we're asking the right questions. Please read the information below carefully before applying.
All applications can be found at the bottom of this page.
Choose your Marketplace
The Great Goblin Bazaar - Indoor Vendors
The Great Goblin Bazaar is our curated indoor fantasy marketplace, spread across three bustling trading Marquees. It is best suited to artisans, makers, artists, authors, costumers, jewellers, fantasy retailers and merchants with smaller retail displays.
We're particularly interested in handcrafted goods, costuming and LARP equipment, fantasy art and literature, tabletop and roleplaying products, magical curiosities, apothecary and witchy wares, toys, collectibles and other strange and wonderful things.
We want the Bazaar to feel like a fantasy marketplace rather than a traditional convention hall, so creative stall presentation and theming are strongly encouraged.
Outdoor Traders
Our outdoor merchants form the streets and marketplaces of Melbourne RenFair.
These sites are suited to larger traders, substantial displays, interactive businesses and merchants who want to create a larger immersive shop or trading space. Outdoor traders may provide their own approved medieval or fantasy-style structure or apply to hire one of Melbourne RenFair's themed tents.
Undecorated modern pop-up gazebos are not permitted within the themed public areas, and outdoor traders should be prepared to make their stall part of the visual world of the RenFair.
What are we looking for?
Melbourne RenFair is a curated marketplace, and applications are not first come, first served.
We consider the quality and originality of your products, suitability for the event, stall presentation, variety within the marketplace and how your business contributes to the overall RenFair experience. We particularly love hearing from makers, artists, designers, craftspeople, independent brands and specialist retailers.
Resellers are welcome where their products offer something interesting and appropriate for the event. However, we want to reduce generic mass-produced, dropshipped and readily available marketplace products so the RenFair remains somewhere patrons can discover something special.
Original 3D-printed products are welcome, while commonly available or mass-produced designs may be considered less suitable.
Returning traders are welcome and encouraged to apply, but previous participation does not automatically guarantee a position.
Vendor Application Process
Applications open on 26 August 2026 and are free to submit. No payment is required at the time of application. Applications will be reviewed by the Melbourne RenFair team, with all successful applicants notified by the end of November 2026.
If your application is accepted, you will receive a confirmation and quote based on your approved stall size, along with any additional equipment or services you have requested, such as tent, power, table or chair hire. Once you confirm that the quote is correct and accept your place, an invoice will be issued. You will have 14 days to pay your invoice and secure your site.
Due to the high demand for trader spaces, unpaid invoices will be considered a withdrawal of interest after the 14-day payment period, and the site may be offered to another applicant. A vendor waitlist will also be created. If an accepted trader withdraws or additional space becomes available, suitable waitlisted applicants may be contacted.
Placement on the waitlist does not guarantee a position at Melbourne RenFair 2027.
A Few things to Know Before Applying
All traders require at least $10 million Public Liability Insurance and are responsible for holding any licences, registrations or permits required for their business.
Traders and staff are strongly encouraged to dress in medieval, fantasy or whimsical costume, and stalls should contribute to the atmosphere and presentation of the RenFair.
Applications are not first come, first served, and submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance. Full trader requirements, terms and conditions will be provided through the application and acceptance process.
