Trinket Trading at Melbourne RenFair

Across all of Valendor, travellers have long shared small tokens of goodwill, a charm passed in friendship, a coin for luck, a ribbon tied in thanks. At Melbourne RenFair, this tradition is welcome, so long as it is practiced in the proper spirit.

Trinkets are gifts of goodwill, not goods for trade.
No coin is to be exchanged, no bargains struck, and no value weighed. Trinkets are given freely, or exchanged only by mutual delight.

Keep trinkets humble and symbolic.
A trinket should be small enough to rest in the palm, simple in nature, and light in worth. Charms, tokens, ribbons, beads, notes, and curios are most fitting. Items of great craft, wear, or function belong instead with the goods traders of the realm.

The Bazaar is for commerce.
The Goblin Bazaar and all merchant halls are places of trade. Trinkets are not to be exchanged within these spaces, nor offered to those deep in the business of browsing wares.

Trinkets wander, they do not settle.
There shall be no fixed places of exchange, no laid out displays, and no calls to gather. Trinket sharing is a brief and passing moment between travellers, not a stall of commerce.

Participation is always a choice.
Trinket trading is not for everyone, and that is part of the balance of the realm. Always ask before offering a trinket, and accept a refusal with good grace. A trinket offered without consent loses its magic.

The Wardens watch over the spirit of the Fair.
Those who stray from the spirit of these traditions may be gently reminded by the Wardens of the Fair. The goal is shared joy and wonder, not pressure or mischief.

May your pockets be light, your heart generous, and your path through the realm filled with small wonders.
